Grant Application Process:Organizations requesting a grant from the SACCF must complete and submit a Grant Request Form and supporting documentation to the SACCF Staff at 144 East Main Street.Supporting documentation should include, at a minimum:
§Copy of non-profit tax exempt status §Project or event budget §Other sources of income if appropriate §Ability to sustain event or project if is not a onetime event
The SACCF Grants Committee meets four (6) times a year, during the months of December, February, April, June, August, and October.Deadlines for submission of grant requests are as follows:
Refer to the calendar: December Meeting – Not later than November 26th February Meeting – Not later than January 28th April Meeting – Not later than March 25th June Meeting – Not later than May 27th August Meeting - Not later than July 29th October Meeting - Not later than September 30th
Eligibility Criteria:To be eligible for consideration for a grant from the SACCF an organization must meet one of the following criteria:
§A Governmental Unit §A religious organization engaged in a non-sectarian activity §A non-profit, tax exempt organization as defined in Section 501c3 of the IRS Code (Copy of IRS letter confirming status provided as part of request) §Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce Committees acting within the Foundation’s stated goals.
Primary Considerations:When evaluating grant requests careful consideration is given by the Foundation to the following factors:
§Must fall within the area of workforce development or quality of life issues §The organization’s fiscal responsibility §The ability of the organization to obtain additional funding to implement the project §Organization’s past grant history with the foundation §Organization’s ability to sustain events after initial grant consideration
The following categories are not authorized to receive grant funds from the SACCF:
§Endowment Funds §General Operating Support §Fundraising Campaigns §Sectarian Religious Programs §Building Campaigns §Operational Deficits §Debt Retirement §Lobbying Programs §Office Equipment §Building Maintenance and Repairs
