The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Inc. has entered in to agreements with several local organizations to assist them in accomplishing their mission within our community.

Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce
On December 4, 2002, board members of the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce formed the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Inc. It is a 501 (c) 3 organization formed for educational and charitable purposes. The purpose of the foundation is to assist the Chamber of Commerce with positive community, quality of life, and workforce development programs. These programs have developed over several years as the Chamber grew from 523 members in 1998 to over 850 in the years following the turn of the century. Twelve individuals, in good standing as a member of the Chamber of Commerce, are eligible to serve on the Foundations Board of Directors. The Chamber Immediate Past President serves as an ex-officio member, as well. The Foundation was included in the 2005 Capital Campaign to allow member companies to help establish a financial base for the non-profit corporation.
The partnership between the two organizations offers the Chamber of Commerce support for its charitable endeavors. The SACC Foundation has been very supportive of the Chamber’s Young Professionals “Career Day” for Wicomico County ninth graders and the Workforce Development Committee’s Award of Merit (an award graduating seniors). In addition, Chamber members and the public have been able to contribute to the Foundation to support beautification efforts enjoyed by the general community, making our hometown a more beautiful place to live.
The Chamber of Commerce staff members provide management and administrative services for the SACC Foundation. Donna Griffith serves as the Executive Director of the SACC Foundation and Brad Bellacicco, Chamber Executive Director, works closely with the Foundation’s Workforce Development Coordinator to facilitate and manage the workforce training and employment programs.

Sister Cities Association of Salisbury - Wicomico County
This organization will help increase global cooperation at the local level through the formation of a sustainable Salisbury Sister Cities Association. The local association is already quite active trying to develop both formal and informal relationships with cities from other regions of the world with the goal of creating economic, cultural, and educational opportunities. Also, they are seeking to become incorporated as a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization in the near future.
Donations to assist the local Sister Cities organization may be made to the SACC Foundation and designated for Sister Cities Association.

Crown Sports Center - Crown Kids Fund
This fund provides scholarships to enable kids to participate in summer camp or other youth or sports programs at Crown Sports Center in Fruitland, MD.
Donations to help provide kids in need with the opportunity to benefit from Crown Sports Center programs may be made to the SACCF and designated Crown Kids Fund.

Local Owner Restraurant Association (L.O.R.A.)
The SACC Foundation has partnered with L.O.R.A. in their efforts to provide scholarships to local high school seniors planning a future in the hospitality industry. L.O.R.A. is a group of locally owned restaurants residing in Wicomico County, Maryland, that have banded together to address common goals and interests. Their primary focus is to heighten awareness of the local support their association gives to the community in regards to charitable and noteworthy donations and the use of local dollars supporting local businesses. Lung 4 Chuck
The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Inc. partnered with Pohanka of Salisbury to assist with the fundraising efforts to provide Chuck Campbell with the money needed for a double lung transplant. A raffle was held for a Golf Course Townhouse in Sarasota, FL and a Brand New Mercedes-Benz SL convertible with an option for a cash prize. The drawing for the winning ticket was aired on the Bonnie Hunt Show in early April of 2010 and the winner was Tammy Ayers, a nurse who lives in Florida. The SACC Foundation, Pohanka, and Chuck & his family extend a big THANK YOU to all who participated in the raffle.
Chuck is a 45 years old father of four who lives in Milford, Delaware. His is a former United States Marine and was employed as the Sales Manager of Pohanka of Salisbury, which is a multi-franchise auto dealer in Salisbury, Maryland. Chuck was diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) in 2005. Due to his condition Chuck is no longer working and in August of 2010 he was officially added to the UNOS double lung transplant waiting list at Inova Hospital in Fairfax, Virginia.
